The corner of Ninth and Waco in Wichita is already muy delicioso.
There sits a strip center that not only is home to the original location of Mario Quiroz’s Molino’s Mexican Cuisine, home of piratas, elote and street tacos, but also the wonderful Juarez Bakery, purveyor of the city’s best Mexican pastries.
Now, the strip center has a third option for Mexican treats. The colorful new Jungle Snack & Fruit Bar opened there last week.
The new restaurant at 1052 N. Waco is owned by Gisila Delgado, the wife of Juarez Bakery owner Manuel Fernandez, and Maria Rodriguez. It has a menu of Mexican food, including tortas, quesadillas, ceviche and street tacos, but specializes in rusa, a Mexican drink filled with fresh fruit, topped with a fizzy soda and garnished with chamoy candy. It also has Mexican ice cream, dozens of sweet toppings options, and a pastry case filled with items like tres leches cake.
