It’s the question that simmers up every year the second summer starts to simmer down.

When will the pumpkin spice lattes come back?

The answer for 2017: Right now.

Today (Tuesday, Sept. 5) was the official launch day of the pumpkin spice latte (also known as PSL) in Starbucks stores across the country. (The chain’s website today features a huge banner reading: “PSL IS HERE.”)

In Wichita, at least two coffee shops beat them to it. Andrew Gough at Reverie Coffee Roasters, 2611 E. Douglas, launched his shop’s pumpkin spice latte on Friday, as did Twisted Java Coffee Bar at 2615 W. 13th St.

The rest of Wichita’s pumpkin spice-flavored coffee drinks, beers, scones, muffins, cheesecakes, ice cream treats, doughnuts and pretzels will be following soon. Stay tuned for pumpkin-spice updates.
