Wichita Restaurant Week has its dates – and it also has nine new restaurants.
The fourth installment of the event, which was first put on in June 2013, is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 20, through Sunday, Jan. 29.
It’s designed as a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of South Central Kansas, and throughout the week, diners can visit 30 participating restaurants and order prix fixe, multi-course meals for either $15 or $30. The restaurants agree to donate 10 percent of Restaurant Week menu sales to Boys & Girls Club.
Restaurants joining in for the first time this year are Bella Vita Bistro, Bella Luna Café east and west, Bonefish Grill, El Mexico, Georges French Bistro, The Kitchen, Larkspur Bistro & Bar, Wings & Things and Ya Ya’s Eurobistro.
Last year, 24 restaurants participated in Wichita Restaurant Week, and more than $10,000 was raised. Organizers estimate that 2,200 Restaurant Week meals were served.
Restaurant week events have long been popular in larger cities. They give diners a chance to try several courses at restaurants they’re curious about without spending too much.
Here’s a complete list of restaurants participating. Look for more information on Wichita Restaurant Week as it gets closer.
