One thing is for sure: Wichita has no shortage of Mexican restaurants.

And now, another one has opened in the space at 1050 W. 47th St. S. that previously held Rolled Donuts & Meat Pies. It closed over the summer after a year in business.

The new restaurant is called El Mexicano Grill, and it’s owned by Jorge Saalvedra – a former partner in two area restaurants: Mi Casa in Haysville and Tequila’s in Valley Center. This is Saalvedra’s first venture on his own.

He’s remodeled the space, and his menu includes fajitas, burritos, tacos and more. Saalvedra said that so far, customers love the restaurant’s sanchos.

Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. For more information, call 316-272-5554.
