Sunday Bloody Sunday

John Browns, the new bar at 3700 E. Douglas in Clifton Square, calls Sundays "Sunday Bloody Sundays." The reference to the U2 hit is meant to lure customers to a Bloody Mary bar. Those who partake get a shot of alcohol then proceed though a buffet, adding juices, veggies, spices, beef jerky, etc., until they've achieved personal Bloody Mary perfection. John Browns is open Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and serves a menu of sandwiches, appetizers and unique desserts as well.

Suede vocals

Wichita vocalist Ashley Hunsaker will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Suede, 141 N. Rock Island. She'll be celebrating the release of her new CD, "Sailing on Cotton." Hunsaker, 25, sings mostly alt-country songs and moved to Wichita recently from the Kansas City area. Admission is free.
