Shopping for the holidays

Holiday Galleria is this weekend at Century II. The annual upscale shopping event is put on by the Junior League of Wichita. Here's what you need to know:

This sixth annual Galleria will feature more than 100 regional and national merchants selling apparel, home decor, food, art, beauty and bath products, jewelry, seasonal items and children's toys and games.

One of the most popular parts of the event is Girls Night Out , from 5 to 9 p.m. today. Tickets are $12 at the door and include margaritas, a cash bar, appetizers from Junior League cookbooks, valet parking for the first 400 attendees, gift bags for the first 250 attendees and raffle drawings.

Another big attraction is the Community Catwalk Brunch & Runway Fashion Show, beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. Tickets are $40 each, and $25 of that is tax deductible. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling the Junior League at 316-682-7473. Ticket-holders will enjoy brunch, mimosas, goodie bags, prize giveaways and a runway fashion show emceed by The Wichita Eagle's Bonnie Bing.

Tickets to Holiday Galleria are $8 a day. Children 12 and under get in free when accompanied by a paid admission. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
