On Monday, Bonnie Raitt announced she would not be joining James Taylor for the first 19 shows of the duo's scheduled summer tour.

That includes a scheduled stop at Wichita's Intrust Bank Arena on May 24.

Following an annual physical, "it was determined she needs to schedule some surgery soon," according to a news release sent Monday.

The prognosis is good and a full recovery is expected, according to the release.

"I'm deeply sorry to have to disappoint my fans, James and colleagues with these cancellations," Raitt said in the release. "I was so looking forward to our tour, but I'm very grateful that the doctors feel this can be taken care of with surgery. I'm feeling strong and am in great hands with my wonderful team."

Raitt is expected to rejoin the tour in June.

The show will go on in Wichita — it will now be called "An Evening with James Taylor and His All-Star Band," featuring two sets with a brief intermission. The show is May 24.

Fans can also request a refund at the point of purchase.
