Chris Evans was a real-life superhero for Betty White at Wednesday night’s People’s Choice Awards.

And he didn’t even need his Captain America cape.

In a spontaneous act of chivalry, Chris Evans helped Betty White to the stage at Wednesday night’s People’s Choice Awards and made everyone on the Internet swoon.

The moment was quickly hailed on Twitter as the best moment of the night.

Awwwww.

White was given the Favorite TV Icon award and when she started heading to the stage, Evans, who was sitting next to her, offered his arm to help the 93-year-old actress up the stage stairs.

“Betty White. Living all the fangirl's dreams. @ChrisEvans You're just. You're awesome,” tweeted one Evans fan.

But others on Twitter got a little, uh, nervous when they began seeing White’s name trending on social media.

Tweeted ‏@Hedgehog3457: “I feel terrible for saying this but every time I see ‘Betty White’ is trending I get nervous #LongLiveBettyWhite.”

Evans, by the way, won a People’s Choice for Favorite Action Movie Actor.

Awwwww.
