Full weekend of music at the Shamrock

Two popular local bands will perform this weekend at the Shamrock Lounge, 1724 E. Douglas. On Friday, Jenny Wood and the Watchers will perform starting at 9 p.m. Then on Saturday, horn-heavy cover band Mumblin’ Jones will take the stage, also at 9 p.m. Admission both nights is $5. Soulstice reunion at Larkspur

The five original members of Friends University’s Soulstice Jazz Combo – Nathan Williams on trumpet, Jason Whitmore on bamboo recorder, Nathan Hittle on piano, Caleb Drummond on bass and Samuel Dean Hake on drums – will be back together and performing on Sunday. Their show will be from 8 to 10 p.m. at Larkspur, 904 E. Douglas. Admission is free.

‘Christmas Eve Eve’ at Public

Public at the Brickyard at 129 N. Rock Island is putting on its annual “Christmas Eve Eve” music event on Tuesday. The kitchen will close that evening at 8, and the doors will reopen at 8:30 p.m. At 9 p.m., a musical lineup that includes Jeremy Spring of Abandon Kansas, The Travel Guide, Jenny Wood and Aaron Lee Martin will begin. Public will be serving pizza until 10 p.m. Admission is $5, and all of the money will go to the musicians. For more information, call 316-263-4044.
