Transformers convention, stamp and coin show, Midwest Hunt Fest

Fans of Hasbro’s Transformers can celebrate their favorite toys at the fan-created convention TFExpo this weekend at the Holiday Inn, 549 S. Rock Road. There will be panel discussions, contests, prizes, toys available for purchase and special guests Dan Gilvezan, Buzz Dixon and Matt Frank. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. General admission for Friday at the door is $15 for adults, $10 for children; on Saturday, it’s $20 for adults, $15 for children. Weekend passes are $30 for adults, $20 for children. Midwest Hunt Fest

Tyler Wood from the Discovery Channel’s “Moonshiners” is scheduled to appear at this year’s Midwest Hunt Fest at Century II, 225 W. Douglas. He’ll be there from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The hunting, fishing and outdoor sports show will have exhibitors, a rattlesnake show, archery shoots, seminars and prizes. The event takes place from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and military, and $5 for ages 8-12. Ages 7 and under get in free with a paid adult admission.

Stamp and coin show

The Wichita Stamp and Coin Show happens this weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Cessna Activity Center, 2744 George Washington Blvd. Dozens of coin and stamp dealers will be in attendance, and there will be a special booth for young collectors. Admission is free.
