Sorry, Flint Hills National.
Better luck next year, Terradyne.
The best golf course clubhouse in the state of Kansas can be found at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson. At least, that's the finding of Architectural Digest magazine, which on its website on Tuesday published a list of The Most Beautiful Clubhouse in Every State in America.
The Prairie Dunes clubhouse, according to the list, wins for its timeless prairie-style architecture.
"You might mistake the golf course at scenic Prairie Dunes for the British Isles, but the clubhouse is distinctly prairie style, resembling an airy white farmhouse," the Kansas entry read. "The popular club boasts members from 26 states and Canada."
The private course, which first opened in 1937, was designed by world renown golf course designer Perry Maxwell. It's hosted many major tournaments over the years, including the Men's NCAA Golf Championships in 2014 and the U.S. Women's Open in 2002. The spacious clubhouse features a pro shop, a restaurant and a bar, and the social calendar is packed with events.
