The Lake Afton Observatory is offering programs for people looking to learn more about the night sky. The last night of the "Bring Your Own Telescope" program starts at 9 today. Stargazers can get advice on how to purchase and use telescopes.
The observatory, at MacArthur Road and 247th Street West in Lake Afton County Park, also is featuring the Native American Storytelling program at 9:30 p.m. today. People of all ages can gather around the campfire and hear stories about how the Native Americans used the sky and what the stars meant to them.
Both programs are free, but observatory admission will apply for those wanting to attend the regular observatory program. Regular admission is $4 for those 13 and older and $3 for 6- to 12-year-olds. Children under 6 get in free.
