Swap Meet will draw car enthusiasts

More than 20,000 people are expected to converge on the Kansas Pavilions this weekend for the 36th annual Sunflower Swap Meet. Here are all the details:

1) The event is billed as the largest indoor swap meet in the central United States. Almost 500 vendors will be selling automobile-related items. About 100 vehicles will be for sale, too.

2) The show is sponsored by the Wichita A's , a Model A Ford club, but parts are available for all kinds of cars from the early 1900s to modern day. Also available will be tools and all kinds of restoration supplies.

3) Admission is free but parking is $5. Vendors pay a fee for their spaces, with a portion of the proceeds going to local charities. Over the years, the Wichita A's have donated more than $65,000 to local charities.

4) Hours for the swap meet are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event is at the Kansas Pavilions, 85th North off I-135. For more information, go to www.wichitaas.com or call 316-722-1779.
