Three very different concerts coming to Wichita have on-sale dates for tickets coming right up. Warm up your credit card and get ready for:
1. James Taylor: Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today for his scheduled April 30 concert at Intrust Bank Arena. Prices are $71.50 and $47, and the arena will use its lottery system for ticket sales.
2. Avalanche Tour: Tickets go on sale Saturday for a Hartman Arena rock show featuring Stone Sour, Theory of a Deadman, Skillet, Halestorm and Art of Dying. The concert will arrive at Hartman on April 21. General admission tickets are $38 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stage1tickets.com, all Stage1 Ticket Outlets, at the Hartman Arena box office or by calling 316-927-3999.
3. Kenny Chesney: Intrust Bank Arena just announced that tickets to an April 13 Kenny Chesney show will go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 11. They will be $75, $49.50 and $29.50 and also will be sold using the lottery system.
It's First Friday in Wichita again, which means that several venues around downtown will offer musical entertainment. Among the acts on the schedule are the Crowsons, who will perform acoustic tunes at 6:30 p.m. at CityArts, 334 N. Mead; folk musicians Billie Preston and Robin Roberts, who will perform at 7 p.m. at The Donut Whole, 1720 E. Saturday rocks, too
Several popular and up-and-coming local acts have gigs booked around Wichita on Saturday night, too, including the Erin Alan Project, made up of acoustic husband-and-wife duo Erin and Alan Craddock, who will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Artichoke, 811 N. Broadway; and rocking cover band Lucky People , scheduled for a 9:30 p.m. set today and Saturday at Loft 150, 150 N. Mosley.
