Single ticket sales for Wichita Grand Opera productions begin Thursday, with reduced prices for tickets purchased between Thursday and Dec. 23.
Wichita Grand Opera's 2011 season begins Jan. 8 with Puccini's "Madama Butterfly." Other shows scheduled for the year include "Lucia di Lammermoor" on Jan. 14 and 16; "The Merry Widow" on Feb. 12-13; "Romeo & Juliet" on March 13; and "Daughter of the Regiment" on April 29 and May 1.
Additionally, the troupe's 10th anniversary gala concert on March 26 will feature three internationally acclaimed opera stars with ties to Kansas: Samuel Ramey, a native of Colby; Joyce DiDonato, who grew up in Prairie Village; and Alan Held, who received his training at Wichita State University.
The season will end with the traditional "Opera on the Lake" on May 21 at Bradley Fair, featuring music made famous by the Three Tenors, Andrea Bocelli and Il Divo.

Single tickets are $32, $52 and $77 if purchased between Thursday and Dec. 23. They are $35, $58 and $85 after Dec. 23.
Groups of 10 or more will receive a 15 percent discount on the regular ticket price. Seniors, students and members of the military may purchase tickets at all times for $32, $52 or $77.
