Four fun holiday events

1) The WaterWalk development downtown is having its first-ever HO HO H2O family party tonight. It's from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and will feature a visit from Santa, carolers, live music, holiday displays and thousands of lights. Admission is free. Holiday treats will be available for $1 each; some refreshments free. Everything takes place at 515 S. Main.

2) Lights on St. Paul is back this year with its drive-through display of trees, displays and a fountain decorated with thousands of lights and programmed to music. It's open nightly through Dec. 27 at Douglas and St. Paul. Photos with Santa are available Friday through Sunday nights for $5. Otherwise, a donation is suggested to see the lights. 3) Illuminations is a popular holiday tradition at Botanica, 701 Amidon. Visitors will enjoy 4,000 luminaries, chimineas, Santa, displays and music throughout the gardens. It's open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today and Saturday, and Dec. 3-4, Dec. 10-11 and Dec. 17-18. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for kids ages 2-12. Children under two get in free. 4) The holidays aren't complete without a visit to Lights on the Lake at Heartspring, 8700 E. 29th St. N. See hundreds of thousands of lights in a drive-through display with giant lit candy canes and 40-foot tree overlooking the lake. Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays through Dec. 12 and nightly from Dec. 16-25. Hot drinks, holiday treats and music available inside the Hospitality Center. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
