A stakeout leads to a smooch on ABC's crime drama "Castle," with Rick Castle and Kate Beckett finally sharing their first kiss.
Played by series stars Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic , the pair locked lips in a scene filmed outside a downtown warehouse late Thursday for a January episode.
As "Castle" fans know, the show's weekly whodunits share equal weight with the will-they-or-won't-they romance conundrum for the lead characters.
Castle is a best-selling mystery writer and single dad who is an eager consultant with the New York City Police Department. Beckett is the no-nonsense detective ordered to work with him.

Sooner or later, however, TV viewers demand results from such chemistry lessons.
The Castle-Beckett smooch comes during an episode about Beckett's long-frustrated effort to solve her mother's murder. There's more to the lingering embrace and kisses than passion, according to the script. The episode's January date has yet to be determined, ABC said.
Rapper appeals tossing of lawsuit
Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight has appealed a judge's decision to toss out a lawsuit he filed against hip-hop star Kanye West over a 2005 shooting in Miami.
Knight's attorney, Mark Brumer, filed the appeal Friday in Miami federal court. The judge granted a summary judgment last month for West and his companies. The case was set to go to trial this month.
Knight was seeking more than $1 million in damages from West. Knight was shot in the leg at a 2005 Miami Beach party hosted by West, whom Knight blames for lax security. The shooter has never been identified, and the case is unsolved. The judge concluded there was no evidence that a shooting at the party was foreseeable.
West's attorney, Adam Josephs, has previously called the suit ill-conceived.

The production of John Guare's play will open at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre on April 25, with previews beginning April 4. David Cromer will direct.

Series executive producer Neal Baer said he's "elated" to work with an actor of Irons' caliber. The British actor received an Oscar for "Reversal of Fortune" (1990). He won an Emmy for the 2005 HBO miniseries "Elizabeth I."
