Just three more days, and then this year's edition of the Kansas State Fair will be a wrap. Here are some of the highlights for this weekend:
1) The usual attractions —pig races, prize-winning pies, fabulous festival food, a brand new butter sculpture, and rides and games galore — will greet visitors to the fair, which ends Sunday.
2) New this year is a novelty act called Wild About Monkeys, which features Hollywood-trained baboons demonstrating their talents three times a day, every day. Catch the act at Gottschalk Park.
3) Grandstand greats this weekend will include country singer Blake Shelton tonight, Christian band MercyMe Saturday night and teen queen Selena Gomez Sunday afternoon. Tickets are available at the Kansas State Fair box office or by calling 800-362-3247.
