A fourth major broadcast network and Jake Gyllenhaal are adding their support to the ambitious TV fundraiser "Stand Up to Cancer."
Fox will join previously announced ABC, CBS and NBC in donating a simultaneous commercial-free hour of prime time for the September telethon airing from Los Angeles, it was announced Tuesday.
Gyllenhaal was set to appear in a "Stand Up to Cancer" public service announcement to debut during Major League Baseball's All-Star Game Tuesday evening on Fox.
More cable networks also have agreed to carry the fundraiser, with VH1, HBO Latino, TV1 and G4 joining previously announced HBO, Discovery Health, MLB Network, E! and the Style Network.

"Stand Up to Cancer," to be hosted by Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Brian Williams , will air Sept. 10.
Plant honored with star in Memphis
Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is being honored with a star in a music sidewalk in Memphis, Tenn.
Plant was presented Monday with a star that will be placed on the Orpheum Theater Sidewalk of Stars on Beale Street.
The Commercial Appeal reports that the award honors Plant for what are described as tireless efforts to preserve the blues.
During the presentation ceremony, Plant spoke of blues pioneers like Sonny Boy Williamson, Sleepy John Estes and W.C. Handy in acknowledging that a generation of British musicians owe a debt to early Southern blues artists.
U2 concerts rescheduled
The U2 summer concerts that were postponed after Bono's back surgery have been rescheduled for the spring and summer of 2011.
The band was supposed to start the second U.S. leg of their "360" tour on June 3 in Salt Lake City, but Bono had to undergo emergency surgery in May.
Live Nation announced Tuesday that the rescheduled tour will start May 21 in Denver and run through July 23, 2011, in Minneapolis.
U2 Manager Paul McGuinness thanked fans for their patience, saying: "The band wants to get back to where they belong, surrounded by their audience."
The band starts its European tour Aug. 6 in Turin, Italy.
