Winfrey snags interview with Rielle Hunter

Oprah Winfrey has landed the first televised interview with Rielle Hunter since former presidential candidate John Edwards first admitted two years ago that he had an affair with Hunter.

Harpo Productions said Tuesday that Hunter will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on an unspecified date.

GQ magazine last month published the first interview with Hunter in which she addressed the scandal. She told the magazine the affair ended in July 2008 and that the relationship is now something "different." She didn't say whether they are romantically involved but said Edwards wants to be there for their 2-year-old daughter.

Edwards admitted in January that he is the girl's father after initially denying it. He and his wife, Elizabeth Edwards , are now separated.

Burton to end Monte Carlo show

Citing "irreconcilable differences," illusionist Lance Burton said Monday he is ending his run at the Monte Carlo hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip after 14 years, well short of a six-year contract extension he signed last year. His last show will be Sept. 4, hotel officials said.

Burton, 50, has performed at the Monte Carlo since the day it opened in 1996. On Monday, he compared the union to a marriage and the split to a divorce.

"People get married and get divorced every day, and a lot of times when people get divorced, they'll say it's 'irreconcilable differences,' " Burton told the Associated Press. "That's kind of what we have here. I think we've just grown apart, we have different philosophies, and we're going in different directions."

Houston's European tour delayed

Illness has led to a brief postponement of Whitney Houston's European tour.

The singer had been due to kick it off in Paris on Tuesday. But a statement released Monday by her representative says an upper respiratory infection is forcing Houston to bow out of that show on doctors' orders.

The tour will start in Manchester, England, on Thursday. Houston plans to make up the Paris date. This is the latest problem for Houston on her world tour for her comeback album, "I Look to You."
