Steve Jacobs hopes to some day replace the big, heavy six-volt lead/acid batteries with lithium-ion cells that would give the Electric Pickle double its current 60-mile operating range. He's waiting for the $18,000 price tag on the new technology batteries to come down to a more affordable level.
