My choice for the brains for this project was Joe Christiano, who runs Classic's Auto Works on Old Highway 81 between Newton and Sedgwick. I had been mightily impressed when I saw how Joe had brought back my old '55 Buick back to life after I sold it to Eagle editorial cartoonist Richard Crowson. Part of the deal on the Ford coupe build was that I was going to get some hands-on experience out of the project. I've worked on my own cars for years, but had never done a major rebuild and I figured it was about time. Turns out, I had no idea what I was setting myself up for!
