Back inside, the interior was already starting to accumulate bits and pieces scavenged from other projects. A high-dollar discount store console was supposed to reside in the cab of my '64 F-100 pickup, but when I decided to go back to a bench seat, both the console and a set of GM van bucket seats were reassigned to the '49er project. By now, I had temporarily installed an aftermarket foam steering wheel on the column, but it was going to need some help, too, as was the badly yellowed clock face in the dashboard.
