Sweat, Kincaid lead K-State to win

The Kansas State women's basketball team finished out its exhibition schedule with an 89-61 win over Pittsburg State on Monday in Manhattan.

Seniors Ashley Sweat and Kari Kincaid led the Wildcats with 20 points apiece. Kincaid hit 3 of 4 three-pointers.

Senior center Nicole McCombs led the Gorillas — coached by former Heights and Barton County coach Lane Lord — with 12 points while freshman guard Drew Roberts added 11.

Freshman guard Brittany Chambers added 13 points for K-State, scoring in double figures for the second time this season. Sophomore center Jalana Childs recorded her second double-double in as many games, scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. She also added three blocked shots.

The Wildcats open regular-season play Saturday against Indiana State in Manhattan.
