Anyone up for some predictions for some of this week’s games? If I don’t list one that you want to make a prediction on, feel free to add it in the comments.
Let’s get it started.
Kapaun at Northwest (Thursday) — I think Kapaun takes it this year. I like what Kapaun has, but I also think that with Northwest’s QB out with an injury for at least a few games, Kapaun has a bigger edge.
Bishop Carroll at Heights — I cannot wait to see this game. It should be a good one, with two strong defenses, two outstanding coaches and an excellent rivalry. Heights’ offense is more established than Carroll’s with quarterbacks John Moreland and Matt Reed and RB Dreamius Smith, but I don’t think there will be much inexperience evident in Carroll’s QB Tyler Nance.
Never miss a local story.
Rockhurst (Mo.) at Hutchinson — Hutchinson’s best team in its amazing stretch was 2009’s and most of those players are gone. I cannot count out Hutchinson.
Salina Central at Derby — Derby’s got some talented players on this team, even though it has some inexperience. I still like Derby, especially at home.
Andover at McPherson — Talk about a rough season-opener in Andover’s return to Class 5A. McPherson wins this game.
Andale at Wellington — If only I could be in five places at once! I love going to Wellington for games, and this one is promising as one of the best of the night.
Rose Hill at Buhler — Ah, a rematch of last season’s 4A playoffs. I’m taking Rose Hill this time, though. LaQua Mayes and Derrick Decker with the ball is a dangerous combo.
So do you think I’m completely off base here? Tell me why.
