Giving property owner poached animals a bad idea

For 147 years, my family has owned farm land in Leavenworth County. We own the fields of rich, black soil and the grain they produce. We own the tall, Ozark-like timbered ridges and the 12-acre lake.

Prior to that he spent 19 years as a full-time freelance outdoors writer for Outdoor Life, the Wall Street Journal and other publications. Off the job he enjoys the same things he does on the job -- hunting, fly-fishing, birding and photography. Wild game cooking and dog training are also longtime passions.
