Wingnuts keep hot streak going at Fargo

The Wichita Wingnuts broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the ninth thanks to an RBI single from C.J. Ziegler and an RBI double David Peralta on the way to a 7-5 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Fargo, N.D.

It was the Wingnuts’ sixth win in a row.

Peralta finished 2 for 2 with three walks, two runs and three RBIs.

Former Wichita State star Aaron Shafer started and took a no-decision for the RedHawks, allowing five earned runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. Shafer walked four and struck out five. .

Wichita’s Matt Nevarez struck out two in a perfect eighth for the win. Shortstop Clayton Khoury went 2 for 4 for the Wingnuts.
