Nick Singleton made his first start in 35 days for the Wingnuts on Tuesday night, and it was like he never left as Wichita beat Shreveport-Bossier 9-2 in Bosier City, La.
Singleton improved to 9-0. He rejoined the Wingnuts on Tuesday after a brief stint with Acereros de Monclova in the Mexican League. He amassed a 7.11 ERA in three starts with Monclova, but his return to the American Association went well — Singleton allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings, giving up one hit and two walks while striking out seven as his teammates built an early lead.
Newcomer Peter Barrows had his second consecutive three-hit game, and drove in three runs. Jorge Delgado hit a two-run homer in the eighth, and Josh Workman scored three runs.
Singleton and four relievers combined to strike out 13.
