The Thunder will begin the CHL season with home games Oct. 18 and 19 at Intrust Bank Arena, the team announced Friday.

The Rapid City Rush will be the opponent in the Friday night season-opener. Defending CHL champion Allen will play in Wichita on Oct. 19, then the Thunder will play at Allen on Oct. 20. The Americans beat the Thunder in the last season’s CHL championship series.

The CHL will again be a 10-team league, but the cast has changed. The Fort Worth Brahmas and Bloomington Blaze franchises will not compete in 2013-14, but the league has added teams in St. Charles, Mo., and Brampton, Ontario, the CHL’s first Canadian team.
