The Thunder announced two player signings Wednesday, inking returning forward RG Flath and newcomer Neil Trimm.
Trimm played in Laredo the last three seasons, compiling 49 goals and 108 assists. The 29-year-old forward notched 80 points with the Bucks in 2010-11, finishing with a career-best plus-24 rating. He had 47 points in 47 games last year.
Flath joined the Thunder about a third of the way through last season and became one of its most reliable performers. As Wichita endured injuries to several forwards, Flath found himself in an expanded role and proved his worth by scoring 39 points (23 goals, 16 assists) in 42 games.
Flath was an important part of the Thunder’s run to the CHL Finals, where it lost in five games to Fort Wayne. Flath scored 12 points during the postseason, including a hat trick in the first game of the playoffs. Seven of his points came in Wichita’s first-round win over Rio Grande Valley.
Wichita now has three players under contract for the upcoming season, with Flath and Trimm joining returning forward Matt Robinson.
