Wild handles unbeaten Oklahoma

The Wild led the entire way Sunday in Tulsa, defeating the previously unbeaten Oklahoma Defenders 50-44 in a Champions Professional Indoor Football League game.
Jarrel Kelley caught two first-quarter touchdown passes for Wichita (2-0), then Kendrick Harper intercepted a pass and Chris Hemphill scored on the ensuing possession for a 21-0 lead.
Wichita led 31-24 at halftime and made the lead stand up in the second half, as the Defenders never pulled even or took the lead.
The Wild plays its home opener Saturday at Hartman Arena against the Dodge City Law (1-1). Game time is 7:05 p.m.
