Haysville Aviators beat Sedalia to earn NBC championship-week berth

Leadoff hitter Jacob Lamoreux had three hits and scored three times to lead the Haysville Aviators past Sedalia (Mo.) 7-4 early Thursday morning in a National Baseball Congress World Series game that moved the Aviators into the championship week bracket.

Sedalia suffered its first loss and will play Thursday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium against the winner of the 5 p.m. San Diego Force-Derby Twins game. The winner of the last game also advances to the 16-team championship bracket, which begins Friday.

Haysville trailed 3-0 into the sixth inning before scoring three runs. Lamoreux started the rally with a single and later scored. The Aviators took a 4-3 lead in the seventh before Sedalia tied it in the eighth.

In the ninth, Taran Killan’s double to left field scored two runs and highlighted a three-run inning.
