Buenos Aires, Argentina (SportsNetwork.com) - Racing won its second successive match to start the new season on Sunday, topping San Lorenzo, 2-0, behind goals from Luciano Lollo and Facundo Castillon.
Lollo put Racing ahead on the stroke of halftime when he got on the other end of a free kick from Gaston Diaz, but the club had to survive the final 10 minutes down a man as Gabriel Hauche was sent off.
However, with San Lorenzo pushing forward in search of an equalizer, Racing wrapped up the win with a second goal in stoppage time as Castillon scored at the near post following a pass from Sebastian Saja.
Velez Sarsfield also made it two wins from two matches as the club notched a 2-1 victory at home over Arsenal.
Lucas Pratto found the bottom right corner of the net six minutes into the match for Velez, and the hosts doubled their advantage in the 56th through an own goal from Arsenal's Ivan Marcone.
The visitors lone reply came in stoppage time with a goal from Emilio Zelaya, but there wasn't enough time for it to make much difference.
Friday's lone contest saw Newell's and Gimnasia LP play to a 1-1 draw as the two sides traded goals 11 minutes apart in the second half.
Olimpo used a pair of first-half penalty kicks from Jonathan Blanco to down Tigre, 2-1, Defensa y Justicia claimed its first win of the season as an own goal from Banfield's Gaspar Servio in the 84th minute handed them a 3-2 victory, while Ernesto Goni's goal in the 39th minute was enough to lead Estudiantes to a 1-0 win against Independiente.
River Plate used goals from Teofilo Gutierrez and Leonardo Pisculichi to claim a 2-0 win over Rosario Central, Emmanuel Gigliotti headed home a cross from Federico Carrizo in stoppage time to give Boca Juniors a 1-0 victory at Belgrano, and on Monday, Godoy Cruz came from two goals down in the final three minutes to notch a 2-2 draw at Quilmes with goals from Ruben Ramirez and Guillermo Cosaro while Atletico Rafaela held off Lanus to get a 2-1 home victory.
