Wittels tied the 45-game hit streak Arizona State's Roger Schmuck put together in 1971.
Former Major League Baseball All-Star Robin Ventura holds the NCAA Division I record, hitting in 58 straight while at Oklahoma State in 1987.
Wichita State's Phil Stephenson is second on the list with a 47-game streak in 1981.
