Padres' Cashner comes off DL

Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Padres activated starting pitcher Andrew Cashner from the disabled list, so that he can make the start Saturday night against the Diamondbacks.
Cashner hasn't pitched since June 18, and landed on the disabled list with right shoulder soreness five days later.
The 27-year-old right-hander has endured an injury-plagued campaign during which he's gone just 2-6 despite a 2.36 ERA over 12 starts.
San Diego made roster space by optioning pitcher Frank Garces to Double-A San Antonio.
