Former Air Capital Classic champion Jeff Klauk and three-time PGA Tour winner Woody Austin are scheduled to be part of the Scholfield Shootout, a free event Monday that kicks off the Web.com Tour’s week-long visit to Crestview Country Club.
Klauk, who won the Air Capital Classic in 2003, and Austin, a Derby resident, will be joined by five other touring pros and seven local pros for the Shootout, which starts at 6 p.m. on the 10th tee of Crestview’s North course. The touring pros are paired with local pros for the six-hole “horse race,” in which one team is eliminated after each hole.
Spectators are allowed to walk the fairways with the golfers during the competition.
Other touring pros scheduled to play include Ryan Spears, a former Wichita State golfer who is a rookie on the Web.com Tour; Jason Gore, a seven-time Web.com winner; Josh Broadaway, a tour veteran who plays with a cross-handed grip; Andres Gonzales, who tied for 29th in last year’s Air Capital Classic; and Michael Sims, who tied for ninth in last month’s BMW Charity Pro-Am.
