Houston guard Kerwin Roach will makes his college decision on Oct. 24, his birthday. His final choices are California, Texas and Wichita State, he confirmed in a text message on Thursday.
Roach, who plays at North Shore High, is ranked No. 35 nationally on the Rivals.com top 150 and No. 99 on ESPN.com’s top 100. He visited Texas last weekend. California Golden Blogs writes that the Longhorns are the favorite to land Roach.
Roach visited WSU in September. He is a 6-foot-4 senior who made a rise from outside the top 150 with Rivals this summer.
“My relationship with coach GH (assistant Greg Heiar) is outstanding,” he said last month. “And I really have a good connection with Fred (VanVleet), because we basically have the same background story, coming out of high school. I really liked the school and the campus.”
