Wichita State women’s basketball players Alex Harden, Jamillah Bonner and Michelle Price earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors on Wednesday.
The MVC recognized 11 All-MVC players and five honorable-mention picks. In a change from previous seasons, it did not designate a second team.
Harden, a junior guard, is a repeat All-MVC pick. She averages 16.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.3 steals for the Shockers (23-6), who shared the MVC title with Indiana State. Bonner, a junior guard, averages 12.8 points and 4.4 rebounds. Price, a senior forward, averages 12.2 points and 7.4 rebounds.
WSU placed three players on the 2000 All-MVC team, also in an era when the conference picked 10 players without designating a second team. That season, LaTeesha Hill, Keomi Johnson and Jennifer Kaczka made the All-MVC team.
Second-seeded WSU opens the MVC Tournament at 6:07 p.m. Friday, playing either No. 7 Missouri State or No. 10 Southern Illinois.
The MVC’s individual awards, including player and coach of the year, will be announced Thursday.
