Todd Butler’s first season at Wichita State’s baseball coach will begin with a 3 p.m. home game on Valentine’s Day.
The Shockers’ 56-game schedule, released Thursday, begins with a four-game homestand — three against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and one against Central Arkansas.
WSU will take two major non-conference trips. The first is a four-game tournament at Myrtle Beach, S.C., with games against Connecticut, George Mason, Illinois and Coastal Carolina. The second is the annual West Coast trip with games at UC Santa Barbara and Arizona State.
WSU will also visit Tulane April 25-27. Long Beach State (Feb. 28-March 2) and Cal State Fullerton (March 28-30) visit Eck Stadium, as do annual opponents Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State and Nebraska. Dallas Baptist makes its first visit to Eck as a Missouri Valley Conference member May 9-11.
The Shockers will also play an April 22 game against Missouri at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
Indiana State hosts the MVC Tournament May 20-24.
