Wichita State announces volleyball schedule

Wichita State opens the season on Aug. 30 against North Dakota State in the La Quinta Inn and Suites Invitational in Orem, Utah.

The Shockers play three tournaments away from home before playing Missouri State on Sept. 19 at Koch Arena. They play host to the Shocker Volleyball Classic with South Dakota, Hawaii and Creighton beginning Sept. 20.

The schedule also includes home matches against an Italian national team on Sept. 30 and Louisville on Oct. 15. The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament begins Nov. 28 at Koch Arena.

30 — vs. North Dakota St., 5:30 p.m. 31 — vs. Arizona State, 11 a.m.; at Utah Valley St., 8 p.m.

September

Portland Nike Invitational (Portland, Ore.)

6 — vs. Utah State, 3 p.m.; at Portland, 9 p.m.; 7 — vs. Fresno St., 7 p.m.

Lady Vol Classic (Knoxville, Tenn.)

13 — vs. East Tennessee St., 9 a.m.; at Tennessee, 6 p.m. 14 — vs. VCU, 9 a.m.; vs. Austin Peay St., 3:30 p.m.

19 — Missouri St., 6 p.m.

Shocker Volleyball Classic

20 — South Dakota, 7:30 p.m. 21 — Hawaii, 7:30. 22 — Creighton, 2 p.m.
