Wichita State women sign transfer guard

Kishwaukee (Ill.) College guard Valerierose Agnello signed a letter of intent with Wichita State’s women’s basketball team.
Agnello, a 5-foot-10 sophomore, earned honorable mention NJCAA Division II All-American after averaging 12.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Kishwaukee went 26-7 and lost in the District L championship game. Agnello also earned All-Arrowhead Conference and All-Region IV.
She attended Brookfield (Wis.) Central High, where she was named all-state honorable mention and all-conference as a senior.
She also considered Northern Illinois, Winthrop and Western Kentucky and others.
WSU will bring in eight news players in 2013-14 as it attempts to defend its Missouri Valley Conference title. Players who signed in the fall are: Butler County guard Jamillah Bonner, guard Jaleesa Chapel of Dekaney (Texas) High, forward Moriah Dapprich of Branson (Mo.), James Madison (Texas) High forward Briana Jones, Burleson (Texas) High’s center Morgan Landers, guard Marissa Preston of Staley (Mo.) High and East Central (Texas) High guard Kayla White.
