Wichita State has hired Matt Hoffman as assistant volleyball coach.
Hoffman spent the past three seasons as a volunteer assistant at Stanford for the women’s team. He also coached at Homestead High in California, where he taught physical education.
Hoffman is a graduate of San Jose State. He is married with two children.
WSU would not confirm Hoffman’s hiring until all hiring paperwork is submitted.
He replaces R.J. Abella, who took an assistant’s position at South Carolina.
The Shockers end their spring season on Saturday with a 5 p.m. match against Nebraska at Koch Arena. Tickets are $5.
