Five inches of weekend snow and an overnight flight from Hawaii following a 1-6 road trip won’t prevent Wichita State from playing baseball Tuesday.
The Shockers (12-11) play host to Air Force in a two-game series Tuesday and Wednesday before beginning Missouri Valley Conference games Friday by hosting Illinois State.
WSU batters did not enjoy the trip to Long Beach State and Hawaii — the Shockers managed just 16 runs in seven games and were outscored 34-16. WSU batted .248 on the trip.
Air Force (8-13) comes into Wichita with three wins in its last four games. The Falcons struggled last season, finishing 14-39. The teams last played in 2011, when WSU beat Air Force twice at Eck Stadium. WSU has never lost to Air Force in seven games.
