Wichita State loads up on home baseball schedule

Wichita State starts the 2013 baseball season with 18 of its first 19 games at home and finishes with eight games at Eck Stadium.
The Shockers play Pittsburgh on Feb. 15 to start a season-opening three-game series. They travel to Oral Roberts on Feb. 19 before returning home until mid-March.
Trips to Long Beach State and Hawaii highlight the early part of the schedule. Arizona State visits Eck Stadium for two games in early April. WSU plays three games against Oral Roberts, two at home, and its usual home-and-home series with Kansas State, Kansas and Oklahoma State.
WSU, 35-25 last season, opens Missouri Valley Conference play on March 29 against Illinois State at home. It plays four of the seven MVC series at home. Defending champion Indiana State visits Eck Stadium beginning April 5. The MVC Tournament will be held in Normal, Ill., beginning May 21.
