Wichita State: F Ben Smith is coming off a career-high 16 points in Saturday's win over Bradley. He made all six of his shots, four from three-point range. In the triple-overtime win over Indiana State on Jan. 22, Smith started but didn't score until the second overtime. His three in the third overtime gave WSU the lead for good, 86-83. Smith is 8 for 10 from three-point range in his past four games.... Kyles went 1 for 8 from three-point range against Bradley, which didn't cause coach Gregg Marshall to ask him to pass up shots. "If I've got a shooter I believe in, I don't try to limit that," he said. "The last thing I want is a good shooter, in a big game, not feeling like he has my backing."
Indiana State: A three-game losing streak dropped the Sycamores from No. 86 in the RPI to No. 115, costing WSU a chance for its first win against a top-100 opponent.... Carter led the Sycamores with 16 points, making 3 of 7 threes, in the earlier meeting. Creighton held Carter to one point in Saturday's game, an 83-69 Bluejays win in Omaha. He missed all six of his three-pointers.... Odum scored a career-high 22 points at Creighton, 10 coming at the foul line. The Sycamores lead the MVC in three-point shooting, making 37.7 percent. They are also No. 1 in defending the three, holding opponents to 31.7 percent. WSU made 3 of 23 three-pointers in the first meeting.
