The Wichita State women's basketball team couldn't protect a 12-point lead on the road, falling to Evansville 83-78 in overtime Thursday for the Aces' first conference win of the season.
Sheena Johnson scored 11 points in the first half as the Shockers built a 38-28 halftime lead. Johnson scored the first basket of the second half to make it 40-28, but Evansville rallied and took a 54-53 lead with 9:30 to play.
WSU (12-7, 4-4 MVC) responded with eight straight points to regain the lead, but couldn't hold it down the stretch.
Johnson finished with a career-high 21 points, Jazzimen Gordon scored 15 and Chynna Turner added 12 for the Shockers.
Evansville (4-15, 1-7) was led by Amy Gallagher's 18 points.
