Butler Community College is the pick to win the Jayhawk Conference football race for a 12th straight season.
The Grizzlies (9-2 in 2013) have won 12 of the past 13 Jayhawk Conference championships and finished sixth in the final NJCAA poll last season.
Hutchinson was picked to finish second for a fifth straight year, followed by Dodge City and Coffeyville. Hutchinson is trying to win its first conference crown since 1995.
Butler has finished in the top 10 of the national poll for 16 straight years, and this season will find out its worth quickly. After a home opener against Independence – picked to finish last in the Jayhawk – Butler plays at Iowa Western and then plays host to Hutchinson. Iowa Western defeated Butler in their last two bowl games, including the 2012 national championship game.
