Northeastern State (0-0) at No. 21 Pittsburg State (0-0), 7 p.m. — Pittsburg State senior linebacker and Hutchinson High product Nate Dreiling has led the team in tackles the last three seasons and needs 89 this season to become the school’s career leader. Fellow senior John Brown, a wide receiver/kick returner, has posted at least 2,000 yards of offense the last two seasons.

Hansen, 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, is an Andover High product and was the backup at Dodge City Community College in 2010 and 2011 before redshirting last season. Doane returns 14 starters off a team that finished last season ranked No. 20 in the NAIA rankings.

In last week’s 31-16 loss at No. 2 Navarro, Hutchinson scored once on three trips to Navarro’s 1-yard line. Sophomore defensive back Wonderful Terry has been playing like a star for Garden City, returning a punt and an interception for a touchdown in a season-opening win over Independence and scoring a touchdown on a recovered fumble in the end zone in last week’s win over Cisco.
