Best player: Senior Chucky Jeffrey played two Big 12 seasons and won’t be new to KU. She tops the Buffs in scoring (14.4), rebounding (8.3) and assists (4.0).
How far can they go: CU hasn’t lost to an unranked team this year, but South Carolina’s No. 17 in the final poll.
Location: Columbia, S.C.

Best player: Sophomore forward Aleighsa Welch averages a team-best 11.9 points and 7.7 rebounds.
How far can they go: All but one of USC’s seven losses were to ranked teams, so don’t be surprised to see it come out of Boulder headed for the Sweet 16.
South Dakota State
Location: Brookings, S.D.
Record, RPI: 25-7, 61
Best player: Ashley Eide averages 14.7 points for the Jackrabbits.
How far can they go: South Dakota State has won 11 of 12 to get to the tournament, but it likely ends against South Carolina.
