Player of the game
Baylor receiver Terrance Williams is a future pro. He showed it Saturday, hauling in 11 passes for 137 yards.
Reason to hope
Junior James Sims, who finished with 126 yards rushing, might be the most underrated running back in the Big 12. He’ll be back next year.
Reason to mope
Kansas is still spiraling toward a 1-11 finish, with a home game against Iowa State the best remaining chance for a victory.
Kansas is back on the road next Saturday at 11 a.m. to face Texas Tech in Lubbock.
No change at QB
Even after benching quarterback Michael Cummings in the second half of a 41-14 loss to Baylor, KU coach Charlie Weis said Cummings would continue to be the starter.
“I’m not looking to have rambling quarterbacks…,” Weis said. “When I went to Mike, it was to go to Mike. I didn’t go to Mike to play musical quarterbacks.”
• Junior running back James Sims, who finished with 126 yards rushing, became the first KU player to rush for at least 100 yards in five straight games since Laverne Smith in 1974.
